By now, it is 22 more days to go and I am so excited about it, openSUSE 11.0 will be released. Even so, I am a little nervous, although the 10.3 version is running very well on my laptop. I know, people say that Linux on laptops are a little risky. There will always be a few things that won’t work.
Apparently, I didn’t make a wrong decision for choosing openSUSE. Everything went well on my laptop when I first installed the 10.2 version. Wireless worked, 3D worked, sound card (and sound blaster) worked. Everything worked! I was excited when the 10.3 version was released and I soon installed it. Until now, I am not sure if the wireless works. I just haven’t gotten the chance to test it, but I guess it will be too late because the 11.0 version will be released soon.
After the 11.0 release, I hope can use my Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 950 TV card (Maybe I picked the wrong TV card). And maybe, it is the time to ditch Windows!

Woohoo! Here’s hoping you get to ditch Windoze! How do you find openSUSE? I have heard that if it were faster (a lot) it would be “The” Linux Distro.
I have tried Ubuntu and Fedora, but, between the two, I like Fedora more. openSUSE, however, is the most perfect distro for my laptop. I like it so much, although I have a complaint, especially ’standby’ and waking up from ’standby.’ It doesn’t load fast enough. But that’s the only one. Other than that, it’s perfect!
I use KDE and Fluxbox, but I don’t run Compiz Fusion anymore. It slowed down video games and Virtualbox, and I’m thinking to install Solaris or Haiku on Virtualbox.
I’ll see if openSUSE 11.0 is as good as the one I am using now. If it is, I am really gonna ditch Windoze.
Well,I fulfilled my promise.Would you tell me how you got that graphic of openSUSE 11.0 available now?I would like to do the same for Ubuntu on my blog .
I tried openSUSE 11.0 too, still have it and am triple booting, and accepted KDE 4.0,but I feel that the new menu openSUSE built in,I don’t remember the name right now,but it adapts to your favourite programs and apps,is too complicated.I couldn’t find the KControl centre to change that either, but that may be because it’s been a long time since I used KDE.
